Swedberg Eye Care is now Sumnicht Eye Care

Andrew Sumnicht, MD and Steven Swedberg, MD

Dr. Sumnicht is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and dedicated to providing personalized, patient-focused care. His extensive experience and values make him a valuable addition to our team and community at Sumnicht Eye Care.

As our new primary cataract surgeon, Dr. Sumnicht will be seeing patients throughout the week, ensuring high-quality eye surgery. While Dr. Swedberg will step away from performing cataract surgeries, he will continue to see patients on Tuesdays and will perform lid surgeries, allowing many of you to maintain your ongoing care with him if you prefer.

Although our location and contact information will remain unchanged, you will start to see our branding transition to Sumnicht Eye Care in the upcoming months, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in ophthalmology.

In addition to comprehensive ophthalmology services, Swedberg Eye Care provides surgical management for cataracts and common oculoplastic conditions. Our skilled eye surgeons screen and care for patients dealing with cataracts and glaucoma. If necessary, we can schedule both cataract surgery and glaucoma laser surgery right in our office.

Swedberg Eye Care can provide you with an updated glasses prescription! For patients seeking updated lens prescriptions, our clinicians and trained ophthalmic technicians are available to provide primary vision care, including assessments for conditions like cataracts. Since we do not have an optical shop, we are not in network with vision insurance plans. All refractions are considered an out-of-pocket expense due at the time of service. We do not provide prescriptions for contacts at this time. Though we do not carry glasses or contacts, we have an excellent local network of quality opticians! We are happy to partner with College Place Optical, Sherman Optical, and Kay's Optical for your optical needs, including low vision tools, as well as to assist with any referrals for eye surgery or consultations with an experienced eye surgeon. For comprehensive eye care, consider our connection with Sumnicht Eye Care, a trusted name in ophthalmology!
